Glühenmetallaffe

It's a glowing metal monkey. It's a nice simple job with photoshp layers - the only tricky bit is that the glow is done with the inner shadow effect, set to screen, so that it could be offset slightly from the hole.

Making a brushed metal look is a simple matter of 50% grey, 40% monochromatic noise, motion blur, curves tool to taste. As with the Enigma background, a lighting effect has been put on the metal to avoid it looking flat and lifeless, although here it's an even centre light instead of a spot from the top left. A seperate, although very similar, lighting effect was placed on the green underlayer.
